Zule Alejandro

Zule Alejandro was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1988. Studied Fine Arts in the University of Puerto Rico where she experimented with diverse mediums and collaborative art making, later on she created her body of work mostly in the mediums of painting and ceramic sculpture. Her approach to art making is intuitive and emotional which has led her into developing an embodied dialog with materials, contexts and objects from a feminist material lens with the intention of going beyond binary notions. Recently she obtained a Master Degree and continued her Doctoral studies from The University of Granada of Spain in Arts Education, in which she has been researching ways to incorporate her artistic practice into educational methodologies. Her main purpose is to find ways to create, with an ethical and social end, sharing her experience with others as a way of exploring the self in interconnectivity with the rest of the world.
